The Best SONY BDV-IT1000 Home Cinema System 5

Review and Buying Guide of The Best SONY BDV-IT1000 Home Cinema System 5

There are a few things you should know about this systemnegatives:1) its not a uk spec system, it arrived with eu plugs but the seller had provided uk adaptors on the outer packaging. Never the less, it is region 2 and there are no issues with playing uk discs. Nothing is mentioned of this in the product description. 2) none of the user manuals are english.

I only have german, italian, dutch and french, but i found the uk manual within minutes of googling it and downloaded it for free. 3) the rear speakers took ages to pair up, i tried tall he usual operations, the 3ft transmitter trick, the tinfoil around the hdmi trick and still no luck. I purchased a gold plated hdmi and no joy. My last resort was to purchase 'another' hdmi - a sony branded one and hey presto - it paired up with the rear speakers immediately. Warning: read up on this, there are hundreds of cases posted on the interent on this problem.

Having deliberated for quite some time on just a speaker system or a complete surround system, i came across this sleek system on display and i emmediatly loved the look of the system (pictures just didn't do it any justice). Setting up was very straight forward, but the setup took a bit of time because once you go to another function, it was very difficult to get back to setup. Anyway, 12 hours later and i'm up & runningi was impressed with the speaker calibration, and the finished sound effect is very good but voices are a bit too quiet compared to the sound effects which was a little disappointing but not taking anything away from the system as a whole. What has lost the star rating?.

No other surround system comes anywhere near this price bracket, i only have this lovely piece of equipment as it was a gift (thank you generous boyfriend x). If money is no object, go get it.

Pros

  • Amazing system, but

Conclusion of SONY BDV-IT1000 Home Cinema System 5

2) the looks are superb, its a sleek system, very impressive and looks expensive, really impressed with the performance from such slim speakers. Synopsis:overall, i would recommend this system to anyone, the s-air issues are worth looking into but once you sync the rear speakers, your away. I have given this 4 stars due to the lack of information on eu / uk spec, i guess the seller gets them from abroad cheaper and makes a profit but this should not turn anyone off purchasing this fantastic system.
